Top 10 Apple Podcasts — Top Shows (US) — April 7, 2026

On April 7, 2026, Apple Podcasts listeners in the US sent The Daily back to the top spot, proving that even in a saturated news cycle, morning briefing fatigue hasn’t hit yet. This chart measures which shows commanded the most listens on Apple’s platform in the US over the past day—a blunt, real-time popularity contest that favors habit-driven listening over viral bursts. What surprises is that two narrative-driven projects, The Idiot (at #3) and Morbid (at #10), push past enduring franchises like Dateline NBC (#6) and SmartLess (#7), suggesting audiences crave sharp storytelling or niche thrills over celebrity chitchat. The Shawn Ryan Show sneaking in at #9 underscores a hunger for long-form military and veteran perspectives. Apple Podcasts ranks based on total listens, adjusted for unique listeners, giving a daily snapshot of what actually gets played, not just downloaded.
