Bollenstreek Tulip Route

The Bollenstreek Tulip Route offers an explosive floral display, a 35-kilometer loop through the bulb-growing region between Leiden and Haarlem. From mid-March to mid-May, the route cuts through fields of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. Keukenhof Gardens, the world's largest flower garden, is a highlight of the route, attracting 1.4 million visitors annually. The route follows 12 kilometers of dedicated cycle paths along the Oude Rijn and passes the historic town of Lisse, where the Flower Museum is located. The average bloom period lasts eight weeks, with peak tulip season in April when over 7 million bulbs are in flower simultaneously.
