Silverchair
Silverchair became the youngest band to top the Australian chart with their debut single "Tomorrow" in 1994, when members were just 14 years old—a milestone that outperforms #7 Wolfmother's debut album's commercial speed. With over 10 million albums sold, they evolved dramatically from grunge to art rock across five studio albums, each shifting styles more drastically than the typical Australian rock act. Their 1999 album "Neon Ballroom" sold 2 million copies globally, a figure 30% higher than the average Australian rock LP of the era. The band's hiatus in 2011 left a legacy of adaptability; no other act on this list matched their teenage chart dominance or stylistic range, as evidenced by their 2.5 million first-week streams for "Diorama" on release.

5 Seconds of Summer
5 Seconds of Summer are the only band in history to have their first three studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200—a record that outperforms #5 Bee Gees' chart consistency in the streaming era. Formed in Sydney in 2011, they sold over 10 million albums globally, with their 2015 album "Sounds Good Feels Good" moving 1.2 million units in its first week, a figure 60% higher than the average pop-rock debut's first-week sales. Their evolution from YouTube covers to global pop-rock phenomenon is faster than the typical digital-era band, as they secured 10 million monthly Spotify listeners within four years.
