Gyeongju Historic Night Market
During the summer and autumn festivals, Gyeongju's ancient city center transforms into one of Korea's most atmospheric night markets. Food stalls operate against the breathtaking backdrop of Silla Dynasty tumuli burial mounds, which are illuminated with a golden light, creating a truly historic ambiance. The culinary highlights of the Gyeongju night market canon include ssal-ppang, bread loaves filled with sweet red bean paste, and hwangnam-ppang, a traditional Gyeongju pastry. Visitors can also enjoy makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine, sourced from local rice farms. These offerings provide a taste of Gyeongju's rich heritage and local specialties.
