Shila Amzah

Shila Amzah has built a following of more than two million on Weibo, a rare foothold for a Malaysian singer on Chinese social media. Her career exploded after winning the 2012 Asian Wave competition, where she performed Mandarin songs infused with Malay musical instincts, launching a crossover career few Malaysian artists have matched. She went on to headline concerts in Shanghai, Beijing and other Chinese cities, while Malay singles such as "Masih Aku Cinta" kept her rooted in her home market.
