Dongmen Pedestrian Street (东门步行街)

Dongmen Pedestrian Street, Shenzhen’s oldest commercial district, has roots tracing back to the mid-Ming Dynasty, over 300 years ago. This sprawling pedestrian zone covers approximately 176,000 square meters and features over 3,000 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, offering an abundance of affordable fashion. Clothing items typically range from CNY 50-300 (HKD 54-320), with numerous stalls selling sportswear and trendy "Shanzhai" fashion. The street is also a renowned street food destination, with skewers averaging CNY 15 (HKD 16) and a variety of snacks like stinky tofu and grilled squid available. Dongmen is easily accessible, with Laojie Station (Metro Line 1 or 3) placing visitors directly at the edge of the pedestrian zone within a two-minute walk. Many vendors accept both cash and WeChat Pay.
