Vegetarian Festival, Phuket

Devotees pierce their cheeks with swords, walk on hot coals, and climb blade ladders to demonstrate spiritual strength, while the entire island commits to a strict meat-free diet. This festival outperforms the Chiang Mai Flower Festival in raw shock value and cultural intensity, yet its focus on bodily sacrifice makes it less accessible for casual tourists.
