Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the world's largest mosques and a stunning example of modern Islamic architecture. It features 82 domes and four minarets, each approximately 107 meters tall. The mosque's main prayer hall is home to the world's largest hand-knotted carpet, which measures 5,627 square meters and weighs 35 tons. This impressive carpet was hand-knotted by around 1,200 artisans over two years. The mosque's interior is further adorned with 24-carat gold chandeliers, including one that weighs 12 tonnes. While offering immense scale and intricate craftsmanship, the sheer size means visitors should allocate ample time to explore fully.
