Benjamin Rich built Bald and Bankrupt on the places most travel content ignores — the post-Soviet world, rural India, and other overlooked corners of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. There's little script and barely any planning: he shows up, spends modestly on food and local transport, and lets whoever he meets carry the video. That improvisation is the whole appeal — more than 4 million subscribers come for the unfiltered version of places the mainstream news only visits in crisis footage.
