Nobel Peace Prize Laureates — the Last Decade

The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded since 1901, but controversy has rarely been far from the selection. Some laureates have shaped history through decades of quiet courage; others were recognized for a single transformative moment. Some choices have aged poorly; others have proven prophetic. This list collects the prize's recent recipients — the people and organizations that the Norwegian Nobel Committee has judged to be the most significant contributors to peace in the world. Whether you agree with the selections or not, each one tells you something about what the world valued, and feared, at the moment it was awarded.
