#1 Victory Heights Primary School — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Victory Heights Primary School in Dubai Sports City is the only school on this list that scores Outstanding for overall quality, wellbeing and inclusion in KHDA's 2023-24 inspection and also carries the highest parent rating, 91, on SchoolsCompared.com. It opened in 2013 and teaches children from FS1 to Year 6 on the National Curriculum for England. The inspection report lists 1,006 pupils, 66 teachers and 39 teaching assistants, and the school says classes hold up to 25 children, with a teaching assistant in every class from FS1 to Year 2 and a shared assistant in Years 3 to 6. Wellbeing is built into the timetable rather than left to assemblies. Year 1 and 2 pupils have Mindful Monday, Years 3 to 6 have Wellbeing Wednesday, and the school runs one-to-one wellbeing sessions and friendship groups when a child needs them. KHDA's inspectors described a very strong culture of wellbeing and named the care, support and security of pupils as a highlight. The same report was less glowing on Arabic and Islamic Education, which it asked the school to improve, and that is the most common gap among British primaries in Dubai. The school day is clearly published. Children in Key Stage 1 and 2 can arrive from 7.30am, are in class by 7.55am and finish between 3.00pm and 3.10pm from Monday to Thursday, which is a full school day. FS1 finishes at 1.15pm and FS2 at 1.45pm, and on Fridays the whole school finishes around 11.00 to 11.40am. After-school enrichment runs from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. Fees for 2026-27 follow KHDA's directory: AED 40,138 for FS1, AED 43,785 for FS2, AED 47,435 for Years 1 and 2, AED 51,084 for Years 3 and 4 and AED 54,733 for Years 5 and 6. The school does not expect a fee increase for 2026-27, in line with Dubai's freeze, and does not offer sibling discounts. SchoolsCompared.com describes it as one of the happiest schools it has visited in the emirates and would like to see bursaries. It is a primary only, so families need a Year 7 plan.

#2 Dubai English Speaking School (DESS Oud Metha) — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

DESS Oud Metha says it was established in 1963 by the British Embassy on land gifted by Sheikh Rashid, which makes it the oldest British school in the UAE by its own account. It is run as a not-for-profit by a board of trustees, takes children from FS1 to Year 6 and follows the National Curriculum for England. KHDA rated it Outstanding in 2018-19, 2019-20, 2022-23 and 2023-24, and also Outstanding for wellbeing and inclusion in the most recent round. Wellbeing is where this school separates itself. KHDA's 2023-24 report found wellbeing provision outstanding, with a highly qualified wellbeing team, regulation zones, a character programme and a mindfulness focus at the start of each class day. Inspectors also rated mathematics, English and science outstanding in the primary phase. The weak spots were Arabic as a first and additional language, rated Acceptable for attainment, and Islamic Education, rated Good. The roll is 1,017 pupils taught by 69 teachers and supported by 52 assistants, and the report counts 64 pupils of determination, which is part of why the support rating is so strong. SchoolsCompared.com gives it a parent rating of 88 and notes that the Oud Metha site is cramped, with facilities that can only be upgraded so far. The campus is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Oud Metha metro station, which matters in a city where the school run can take an hour. Fees are among the lowest for an Outstanding school. For 2026-27 the school lists AED 43,084 for FS1 and AED 53,320 for FS2 to Year 6, with termly payments of AED 21,328, then AED 15,996 twice. A newer DESS primary opened in Academic City in September 2025 at higher fees. Daily start and finish times are not listed publicly, so confirm them on a tour. The 6Cs approach (critical thinking, compassion, creativity, communication, collaboration, curiosity) is a real part of daily teaching rather than a poster slogan.

#3 Horizon English School — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Horizon English School began in 1989 as a small villa school with 12 children and now has more than 1,000 pupils on a campus in Al Wasl, Jumeirah. KHDA lists it as Horizons English School and rates it Outstanding for overall quality, wellbeing and inclusion in 2023-24. The inspection report records 1,301 pupils, 86 teachers and 45 teaching assistants. It has been part of the Cognita group since 2021, and the school says nearly all class teachers are British trained. KHDA's inspectors singled out the caring community ethos and the high level of wellbeing it produces, along with outcomes in English, mathematics and science and the quality of the Foundation Stage. Wellbeing leaders use internationally validated frameworks and run Global Be Well days around themes pupils choose. The recommendations were the familiar ones: raise expectations in Islamic Education and Arabic. SchoolsCompared.com gives the school a parent rating of 88 and notes it was once recognised as the happiest school for children in the UAE at the Top Schools Awards. The published school day is Monday to Thursday with gates opening at 7.20am, drop-off from 7.30am and pick-up at 2.50pm for Years 1 to 6. FS1 pick-up is 1.20pm to 1.30pm, and every year group finishes at 11.30am on Fridays. Those hours give Years 1 to 6 about seven hours of school time on a standard day. Fees need a careful read. KHDA's directory shows AED 31,503 for FS1 and FS2 and AED 44,121 for Years 1 to 6, while the school's own 2026-27 table lists AED 43,849 for FS1, AED 52,163 for FS2 and AED 58,825 for Years 1 to 6, including a AED 1,200 medical fee, stationery and a digital device. Ask the admissions office which figure applies to your child. The school is primary only, with Horizon English School Town Square due to open in August 2027 as a through-school option.

#4 Safa Community School — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Safa Community School opened in September 2014 and went on to win the Best New School in the UAE award, according to the school. It is an all-through British school from FS1 to Year 13, so the primary here is one part of a larger campus. KHDA's 2023-24 inspection moved it from Very Good to Outstanding and scored wellbeing and inclusion Outstanding. The report records 2,371 pupils and 207 teachers, while the school's own at-a-glance page quotes 2,645 students from 94 nationalities. The wellbeing evidence is specific. Inspectors reported that pupils and staff describe the school as being like a family, that students talk enthusiastically about the breadth of the wellbeing curriculum, and that provision for pupils of determination is exceptional. The school holds a National Mental Health and Wellbeing Accreditation from The National College. The one development point was resilience, since a few pupils struggled when unexpected events occurred. SchoolsCompared.com lists a parent rating of 86 and credits the school with the Top Schools Award for Happiest School in 2024. SchoolsCompared.com says delivery is structured by year group, each with its own resources, which keeps a big school human scale. Afternoon pick-up for 2026-27 is 2.20pm for Year 1, 2.30pm for Years 2 and 3 and 2.40pm for Years 4 to 6 from Monday to Thursday, with Friday pick-up at 11.15am for Years 1 to 3 and 11.30am for Years 4 to 6. The school offers over 300 free extra-curricular activities and a free sibling club. The school's own 2026-27 fee table runs from AED 54,437 for FS1 and FS2 to AED 56,753 for Years 1 to 3, AED 59,070 for Year 4, AED 61,386 for Year 5 and AED 63,703 for Year 6, plus a AED 1,500 annual medical fee. Demand outstrips places in many years, so apply early.

#5 GEMS Jumeirah Primary School — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

GEMS Jumeirah Primary School has the longest unbroken Outstanding record on this list. KHDA's directory shows Outstanding for every listed inspection from 2010-11 through 2023-24, and the latest report also gives Outstanding for wellbeing and inclusion. The school teaches the National Curriculum for England from FS1 to Year 6 in Jumeira and has 1,466 pupils, 97 teachers and 83 teaching assistants on the 2023-24 report. KHDA's directory dates it from 1994, while the report gives 1996 as the opening year. Inspectors credited highly effective leadership and governance, strong achievement and learning skills, a committed inclusive culture and excellent personal development, especially in the Foundation Stage. On wellbeing they found a team that supports emotional and behavioural needs, parents with an active voice in decisions, and staff who are highly satisfied with the support they get. They also noted that some wellbeing initiatives were not yet fully embedded and asked the school to lift its National Agenda benchmark and reading test results. SchoolsCompared.com gives a parent rating of 84 and flags that Islamic Education and Arabic as a first language lag the other core subjects. The school says its community includes more than seventy nationalities. Its published timetable is a 7.15am to 7.40am drop-off with registration at 7.40am, Monday to Thursday pick-up between 2.30pm and 2.45pm for FS2 to Year 6, and Friday pick-up at 11.15am to 11.30am. FS1 children are collected at 12.30pm. A pupil on a standard Monday to Thursday spends roughly seven hours on site. Fees are AED 44,200 for FS1 and AED 55,714 for FS2 through Year 6 in 2026-27, according to KHDA's directory. The site is small compared with newer premium schools, a trade-off SchoolsCompared.com mentions, and the school is a feeder to Jumeirah College for older pupils.

#6 Nord Anglia International School Dubai — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Nord Anglia International School Dubai opened in 2014 with 500 students and now has more than 3,000, according to the school; KHDA's 2023-24 report counts 2,882 pupils, 250 teachers and 131 teaching assistants. Like Safa Community, it is an all-through school, so the primary sits inside a large campus. KHDA rated it Outstanding for overall quality, wellbeing and inclusion, and the inspectors highlighted clarity of vision, excellent support for wellbeing and strong partnerships with parents. Primary pupils follow the English National Curriculum, adapted for an international intake, and the school links learning to Nord Anglia's collaborations with MIT, The Juilliard School and UNICEF, which are included in the fee. The Foundation Stage drew particular praise from inspectors for a vibrant environment that speeds progress. The recommendations were to broaden pupils' understanding of Emirati culture through the core subjects and to widen alternative curriculum pathways for older students. The published day is the most detailed of any school here. FS1 runs 8.00am to 2.15pm and FS2 8.00am to 2.30pm, while Years 1 to 6 run 7.45am to 3.00pm from Monday to Thursday, around 7 hours and 15 minutes. On Fridays FS1 and FS2 finish at 11.00am, Years 1 and 2 at 11.00am, Years 3 and 4 at 11.15am and Years 5 and 6 at 11.30am. Cost is the main reason it ranks sixth despite top marks. KHDA's directory lists AED 69,625 for FS1 and FS2, AED 81,228 for Years 1 and 2 and AED 87,030 for Years 3 to 6. SchoolsCompared.com gives a parent rating of 75, the lowest of the six Outstanding-everything schools here, and reports continued grumbling by parents over fees, perceived value, communications and parking. For families who want Juilliard-designed performing arts and a full A-level and IB route, the fees buy something distinctive.

#7 Dubai British School Jumeirah Park — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Dubai British School Jumeirah Park opened in 2015 and is run by Taaleem. It teaches the National Curriculum for England from Year 1 and has an early childhood centre for younger children. KHDA's directory shows its rating climbing from Good in 2017-18 and 2018-19 to Very Good in 2019-20 and 2022-23, then Outstanding in 2023-24, when wellbeing was rated Very Good and inclusion Outstanding. The 2023-24 report records 2,101 pupils, 163 teachers and 48 teaching assistants across the whole school. Inspectors highlighted the Foundation Stage, where teaching is personalised, outstanding results in English and science across all phases, and the care and safety pupils experience in positive classroom climates. The wellbeing section credits a strong, approachable team, student wellbeing ambassadors and a mentoring system, under a vision summarised as Enjoy, Aspire and Achieve. Wellbeing is Very Good rather than Outstanding because provision is still being embedded, which is why this school sits behind the six that score Outstanding on both measures. SchoolsCompared.com gives a parent rating of 85, the fifth highest of the ten, and calls the school a benchmark in the Emirates for performing and expressive arts. It also notes outstanding facilities and fees it describes as offering outstanding return on investment. Wikipedia lists Arabic and French from Year 1. Daily hours are not listed publicly, so confirm them with the school. Fees are the main consideration. KHDA's directory lists AED 46,003 for the early childhood class, AED 65,719 for FS1 and FS2 and AED 83,849 for Years 1 to 6, which is about AED 29,000 more than Victory Heights charges for Years 5 and 6. Ask the school about discounts for new joiners.

#8 Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS Jumeirah) — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

JESS Jumeirah is the original campus of Jumeirah English Speaking School, which the school says began in 1975 with 17 children in a small apartment building near the Deira Clock Tower before moving into a villa in Jumeirah on land gifted by the Ruler of Dubai. This campus teaches FS1 to Year 6 on the National Curriculum for England. KHDA has rated JESS Outstanding in every round listed from 2010-11 to 2023-24, and gives it Outstanding for inclusion and Very Good for wellbeing. The roll is deliberately modest at 751 pupils, with 51 teachers and 43 assistants on the 2023-24 report, making it the smallest primary in the top ten. Inspectors praised highly effective leadership and governance, excellent outcomes in English, mathematics and science, strong learning skills and a firm commitment to inclusion. On wellbeing they reported very high staff retention and pupils who can talk about their own wellbeing from a young age, but asked the school to evaluate the impact of its wellbeing strategies more systematically. The school cites a 2022 Wellbeing Award for Schools from the National Children's Bureau. SchoolsCompared.com gives a parent rating of 81 and praises teacher commitment, a warm and happy environment and strong community engagement. Its room for improvement is Arabic as a first language. The school's own fee page lists 2026-27 tuition of AED 54,129 for FS1 and AED 65,097 from FS2 to Year 6, plus a AED 500 application fee, with KHDA's directory showing AED 54,131 and AED 65,098. Daily hours are not listed publicly, so ask on a tour. That price puts JESS about AED 12,000 above DESS for Year 1, which is the cost of a smaller roll and a Jumeirah location.

#9 Repton School Dubai — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Repton Dubai was founded in 2007 on the model of Repton School in Derbyshire, which dates from 1557, and it keeps the Repton Arch entrance and a house system that runs through every year group. It is an all-through school with FS1 to Year 13 taught in Nad Al Sheba, part of the Cognita group, and it offers full and weekly boarding in the senior years. KHDA's 2023-24 report records 2,374 pupils, 174 teachers and 43 teaching assistants. The school's curriculum is British, with the IB Diploma available at sixth form. KHDA rated it Outstanding overall in each round listed from 2014-15 to 2023-24, with wellbeing and inclusion both Very Good. That is a strong record but a step below the schools above on wellbeing. SchoolsCompared.com gives a parent rating of 82 and praises the space and facilities, describing them as best in class, along with a broad multicultural student body and outstanding senior management. The published timetable for 2026-27 has Years 1 to 6 dropped off from 7.30am and collected at 3.00pm from Monday to Thursday, with after-school clubs and sports squads from 3.15pm to 4.15pm. FS1 pick-up is 1.30pm and FS2 is 2.30pm, and on Fridays every year group is collected at 11.30am. A Year 3 pupil is therefore on site for about seven and a half hours. Fees match KHDA's directory exactly. The school lists AED 57,178 for FS1, AED 63,025 for FS2, AED 64,631 for Years 1 and 2, AED 66,732 for Year 3, AED 67,266 for Year 4 and AED 75,953 for Years 5 and 6. In Years 5 and 6 that is about AED 21,000 to AED 22,600 a year more than Victory Heights or DESS. The case for Repton is a single campus from age three to eighteen and boarding later on, rather than the best primary-only wellbeing.

#10 Ranches Primary School — Top 10 British-Curriculum Primary Schools in Dubai 2026

Ranches Primary School opened in 2015 in Arabian Ranches and teaches FS1 to Year 6 on the National Curriculum for England. It belongs to the Cognita group and earns its place here as the best-value choice for families in the Ranches and Dubailand area rather than as a top-rated school: KHDA scores it Very Good for overall quality, wellbeing and inclusion in 2023-24, having been Good in 2017-18 and Very Good in each round since 2018-19. The 2023-24 inspection report records 910 pupils, 56 teachers and 54 teaching assistants, a ratio of almost one assistant per teacher that helps in the Foundation Stage. SchoolsCompared.com credits hugely warm and happy school dynamics and a vibrant international community. Its parent rating of 68 is the lowest of the ten British primaries, though the reviewer lists no areas for improvement. That gap between a warm description and a modest score is worth a visit before you commit. School hours are published in detail. Drop-off is 7.30am to 7.45am for FS1 to Year 6. Year 1 is collected at 2.30pm, Years 2 and 3 at 2.30pm and Years 4 to 6 at 2.40pm from Monday to Thursday, and FS1 and FS2 at 2.10pm. On Fridays pick-up is at 11.10am for FS and 11.20am to 11.30am for Years 1 to 6. A Year 4 pupil spends about seven hours on site on a Monday. KHDA's directory lists 2026-27 fees of AED 50,436 for FS1, rising to AED 61,643 for Year 6, so it costs roughly AED 8,000 more than DESS in Year 6 but AED 22,000 less than DBS Jumeirah Park. Extra-curricular activities finish with collection at 3.45pm. The school is primary only, with a pathway to Cognita's secondary schools.
