Top 10 YouTube — Trending Videos (US) — August 28, 2026

GTA 6 has fully hijacked the US YouTube trending page. On August 28, 2026, four of the ten trending videos are direct responses to Netflix's surprise extended GTA VI gameplay drop, including the official 27-second teaser that pulled 3.6 million views and the half-hour expanded cut that added another 1.4 million. Spanish-language creator TheGrefg's reaction clip cracked the top ten, a reminder that the GTA audience doesn't care about language borders. Beyond the chaos, the list tells a familiar story: K-pop's Stray Kids posted a 'FARMING' video that pulled 401,712 likes in a single day, dwarfing every other entry, while rapper Rod Wave dropped new audio that immediately shot to the number one slot. Lanterns Episode 3 trailer analysis and a VisionQuest breakdown fill out the nerd-entertainment middle of the chart, proving the comics-to-screen pipeline is working overtime. YouTube's Trending tab surfaces the videos capturing the most velocity across views, shares, and engagement in the US right now, not all-time classics but the freshest material pulling the loudest audience reactions within a rolling 24-hour window.

Trend Analysis

Gaming content dominates August 28, 2026's US trending list, claiming five of ten slots, almost entirely because Netflix dropped a surprise extended GTA VI gameplay tease that ignited the creator ecosystem. Entertainment analysis holds two positions, music takes two, and hip-hop artist Savannah Dexter rounds out the chart. The most striking number belongs to Stray Kids, whose 'FARMING' video generated 401,712 likes in 24 hours, more than the rest of the top ten combined. That ratio exposes how K-pop fandom engagement still outperforms nearly every Western creator format on raw interaction per upload. The GTA 6 cluster, by contrast, wins on sheer volume: the 3.6-million-view official teaser demonstrates Netflix's ability to weaponize YouTube as a launch surface. The surprise inclusion is the Lanterns Episode 3 trailer breakdown, which signals growing anticipation for HBO's Green Lantern series ahead of its 2026 release window. Expect GTA 6 content to saturate the trending tab for another 48 to 72 hours before music and creator commentary reassert their usual grip.
