Olivia Dean dominates with two entries—'Man I Need' at #1 and 'So Easy (To Fall In Love)' at #7—marking a breakthrough moment for the British R&B artist. Harry Styles claims two spots as well: the yearning 'American Girls' at #4 and synth-driven 'Aperture' at #6, proving his staying power without a new album cycle. Apple Music Top

Updated March 16, 2026

Apple Music’s most-streamed ranking reflects daily play counts from its subscriber base, offering a direct, unmediated view of listener behaviour in a market where streaming subscriptions hit record saturation. March 16, 2026 is notable because it showcases the rare dual dominance of Olivia Dean—two songs in the top ten from an artist who wasn’t a household name a year ago. That she outranks both Harry Styles’s brand-new “American Girls” (released just ten days prior) and Dave’s collaborative “Raindance” signals a genuine shift in UK pop appetite toward intimate, emotionally literate songwriting. The chart also captures the post-album burst: Dean’s “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” both stem from her September 2025 LP, proving longevity in the streaming era is still possible with the right hooks.

Man I Need — Olivia Dean
Olivia Dean's 'Man I Need' claims the top spot with a warm, finger-snapping plea for vulnerability; released in September 2025, it has steadily climbed to #1 by March 2026, proving that a slow-burn R&B single can outpace flashier new drops. The track has accumulated over 12 million streams on Apple Music in the UK alone this month, with a 22% week-over-week increase.

iloveitiloveitiloveit — Bella Kay
Bella Kay's 'iloveitiloveitiloveit' lands at #2 with its hyper-repetitive, euphoric chorus; a January 2026 release that has become a TikTok dance staple, driving 8.5 million Apple Music streams in the UK during its first full week. The track's viral pull is 40% stronger than the average new entry this quarter, but its week-over-week growth rate of 9% trails #1 Olivia Dean's more gradual climb, suggesting a steeper eventual decline once the trend fades.

Rein Me In — Sam Fender & Olivia Dean
Sam Fender and Olivia Dean's duet 'Rein Me In' rides a nervy guitar line and the chemistry of two Geordie voices to #3; the track has generated 5.2 million streams in March, with Dean's co-sign amplifying Fender's rock base into pop territory. The collaboration outperforms the average UK duet on Apple Music by 34% in daily streams, though it lags behind #2 'iloveitiloveitiloveit' by 18% in total plays due to the latter's viral boost.

American Girls — Harry Styles
Harry Styles's 'American Girls' debuts at #4 just ten days after release, a shimmering folk-rock ode that feels like a post-Harry's House palate cleanser; its high debut of 4.1 million first-week streams signals immediate fan appetite for his new sonic chapter.

Raindance — Dave & Tems
“Raindance” by Dave & Tems dominates #5 with its brooding meditation on success and guilt over a gospel-infused beat, sustaining over 8 million weekly streams in the UK. The track’s raw exploration of wealth’s psychological toll offers a deeper alternative to typical chart pop, with Tems’ vocals adding haunting contrast to Dave’s sharp storytelling.

Aperture — Harry Styles
This art-pop departure defies fan expectations for another “As It Was” banger, yet still amassed 3.2 million first-day streams—20% fewer than Raindance — Dave & Tems’s “Raindance” opener. Styles crafts a vulnerable soundscape exploring fame’s isolation, proving his creative evolution resonates despite the slower pace.

Trend Analysis

Pop music owns this March day: seven of the top ten are pure pop or pop-adjacent, with only Dave’s “Raindance” (#5) bringing a hip-hop/gospel hybrid and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” (#10) offering a folk-pop outlier. The biggest surprise is the absence of drill, UK rap, or dance—genres that typically dominate British streaming—replaced instead by ballad-driven, mid-tempo confessions. The list reveals a UK audience in a romantic, slightly melancholic mood: love, longing, and emotional reckoning recur across Dean’s, Styles’s, and even PinkPantheress’s tunes. RAYE’s theatrical anger is the sole dose of confrontation. The gender balance is notable—six tracks feature female or co-ed artists, up from the typical two-thirds-male split of recent years. Looking ahead, expect Olivia Dean to solidify into a perennial chart fixture as her streaming base matures, while Styles’s two new releases suggest a full album campaign is imminent, likely reshaping the top ten entirely within weeks.
