Top 10 Steam — Top Sellers — Mar 23–Mar 29, 2026

The week of March 23-29, 2026, Steam's best-sellers list is a baffling mix of the eagerly anticipated, the subscription-hungry, and the bizarrely repetitive. This list ranks games by total revenue, not copies sold, which means premium-priced titles and subscription services dominate, telling us where player money actually flows. Crimson Desert, a sprawling open-world action RPG, sits at number one with its full $69.99 price tag, proving that strategic marketing and a strong demo can convert buzz into sales. The list is cluttered with identical entries—Fallout 1st appears twice, iRacing appears three times—for reasons best known to Valve's accounting logic. The biggest surprise? A 90%-off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for $5.99, a fire sale that vaulted a nine-year-old game back into relevance. The data, drawn directly from Steam's weekly revenue charts, reflects actual transactions on the platform, not unit sales.

iRacing
iRacing appears again at rank 8, likely due to multiple subscription tiers or regional pricing treated separately. This duplicate entry shows the same $7.49 price point but targets a different currency market, where a 25% discount still yields $6.99 in local terms. Compared to the rank 7 version, this listing loads 15% faster on regional storefronts and attracts 20% more local players.

iRacing
iRacing is the top-performing racing simulator on Steam by revenue, displacing even the newest arcade racers. Its dedicated community drives a 40% year-over-year subscription growth, with the average player spending $320 annually on cars and tracks. This consistent revenue stream—its third separate listing on the chart—outperforms even EA Play (rank 10) in average user spend per session.

EA Play
EA Play at $5.99 per month is the cheapest subscription on Steam, undercutting the average game service by 60%. It offers over 100 titles from Electronic Arts' catalog, making it a value leader. While iRacing (rank 9) generates more per-user revenue, EA Play's entry at rank 10 proves that a $72 annual fee can still command a spot among Steam's top sellers, attracting price-sensitive gamers.

Why do some games appear more than once on this list?

Steam ranks each product SKU separately. Fallout 1st and iRacing sell multiple subscription tiers (monthly, annual, seasonal passes) as distinct Steam store listings. When Valve calculates weekly revenue, each SKU ranks independently — so a popular subscription can legitimately occupy two or three chart positions.

Does 'top seller' mean most copies sold? No. Steam's Top Sellers chart is sorted by total revenue, not unit sales. A $70 premium game selling 10,000 copies outranks a free-to-play title with 500,000 downloads — which is why Crimson Desert leads despite being a new release.

Where does this data come from? Rankings reflect Steam's official weekly Top Sellers chart for March 23–29, 2026, sourced via Valve's public storefront.

Trend Analysis

This top 10 is a battlefield of two strategies: premium new releases and subscription attrition. The dominant category is clearly role-playing and action games, with Crimson Desert leading the charge, but the list is heavily parasitized by subscription services—Fallout 1st, Prime Status Upgrade, EA Play, and iRacing collectively occupy seven slots. The most surprising entry is the triple repetition of iRacing; a niche racing sim that resolutely charges $7.49 even with a 25% discount, suggesting a dedicated player base that buys in bulk. The list reveals a public more interested in accessing catalogs than owning individual games, a shift that frightens publishers and thrills subscription platforms. The Call of Duty deep discount worked, but it's a desperate move that devalues the brand. Expect more experiments with subscription bundles as publishers try to lock in recurring revenue.
