Top 10 Most Played Steam Games Right Now (2025 Player Count Rankings)

Which Steam game has the most concurrent players in 2025? Counter-Strike 2 holds the highest regular peak on Steam in 2025, routinely exceeding 1.5 million concurrent players. PUBG: Battlegrounds still holds the all-time single-game concurrent record on the platform.

Where do these player counts come from? Numbers on this list are drawn from publicly available Steam Charts and SteamDB peak and 24-hour concurrent player data.

How often is this ranking updated? The list is reviewed periodically and reflects the most recent reliable player-count data available. Concurrent counts on Steam shift daily, so a game's exact position can move between updates.

Are free-to-play games included? Yes. Any game available on Steam is eligible; the ranking is based purely on reported concurrent player counts, not on revenue or review scores.

Why are some 2023 and 2024 launches on a 2025 list? Because 'most played' measures ongoing popularity, not release year. Games such as Counter-Strike 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Palworld, Helldivers 2 and Path of Exile 2 remained among Steam's highest-traffic titles throughout 2025.

## Where do these player counts come from?

The rankings on this list are built from publicly reported concurrent player data on SteamDB and Steam Charts, the two community-standard sources for Steam player counts. We use both peak concurrent players and rolling average concurrent players reported during 2025.

## How often is this list updated?

Steam player counts shift weekly as new seasons, updates and launches move games up or down the charts. This list reflects the most-played Steam games reported through the current 2025 window and is refreshed as new SteamDB data is published.

## What counts as a 'most played' Steam game?

A game's ranking is driven by its peak concurrent player count on Steam during the period, cross-checked against its average concurrent player count. A title with a single massive launch spike (for example, Palworld's 2.1M peak) is listed alongside long-running staples that hold steady year-round (Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Team Fortress 2).

## Are these the most played games on PC overall?

No — this list is limited to games available on Steam and ranked by Steam's own concurrent player metrics. Console exclusives and games sold outside Steam (for example, the Riot Games launcher) are not included.

## Why is Team Fortress 2 still on the list in 2025?

Team Fortress 2 launched in 2007 but still consistently ranks among Steam's most-played games more than 17 years later, thanks to a large long-term community.
